Prevention Of Theft

The Challenge

DA is a national pharmacy chain. From its distribution centre in Zwolle, the Netherlands, its products are transported to more than 400 different pharmacies in the Netherlands.

The DA Retail Group distribution centre was looking for a solution to protect against theft. At that time, if a delivery was not right there was no way of telling where the missing content was or where the problem had occurred. A solution was necessary in order to rule out the possibility of theft. A pre-condition was that this solution had to integrated into the existing production line in a safe manner.

The Solution

It was decided to install a fully automatic Ampag Boxer Transit strapping machine. With this strapping machine and the use of paper adhesive tape it is virtually impossible to unobtrusively open a package. This machine is fully adapted to the demands and requirements of the existing production line.

To guard against a halt in production, a 24-hour service contract was concluded. Our service team is ready and waiting to respond day or night !

The Result

When orders arrive, each individual pharmacy can now see immediately whether any boxes were opened on the way. The number of ‘lost’ products has since reduced significantly.
